Datuk Ir. Ts. Shamsul bin Ahmad is the President/Chief Executive Officer of Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), entrusted with steering the company through its next phase of transformation while strengthening its mandate as Malaysia’s national energy champion. With over 37 years of service in TNB, he brings extensive experience across generation, fuel management, regulatory affairs and corporate leadership. Prior to his appointment as President/CEO on 1 March 2026, he served as Chief Regulatory and Stakeholder Management Officer, where he played a key role in shaping the industry’s regulatory framework and strengthening stakeholder confidence. He previously led TNB Fuel Sdn. Bhd. as Managing Director and served for a decade as Managing Director of TNB Janamanjung Sdn. Bhd., driving operational excellence and asset reliability. He began his career at various generation power plants, grounding his leadership in strong engineering fundamentals. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from North Carolina A&T State University, USA, and a Master of Business Administration from Universiti Tenaga Nasional.
