TNBF VENTURES INTO HYDROGEN TECHNOLOGY IN COLLABORATION WITH UNIVERSITI MALAYA (UM) AND ENERGISE SDN BHD (ESB).

24 May 2024, Kuala Lumpur | TNBF, a reputable fuel supplier in Malaysia, has embarked its strategic involvement in hydrogen technology, in collaboration with Universiti Malaya (UM) and Energise Sdn Bhd. This initiative is a significant step towards supporting the National Energy Transition Roadmap and achieving Net Zero by 2050.


The exchange ceremony of technology licensing, marking the beginning of this collaboration, was attended by notable figures from the involved parties. Representing Universiti Malaya’s Centre of Innovation & Enterprise (UMCIE), Associate Professor Ts. Dr. Aznul Qalid Md Sabri, Chair of the Cluster Industry, Innovation & Sustainable Sciences, UM, and Professor Ir. Dr. Hazlie Mokhlis were present. Energise Sdn Bhd was represented by its Managing Director, Tuan Syed Faisal Algadrie.

 

From the regulatory and industry side, the ceremony was graced by the Chairman of the Energy Commission, Tuan Mohammed Rashdan Mohd Yusof, and TNBF’s Managing Director, Tuan Haji Jamal Yusoff. “This is crucial to us in supporting the national agenda, it demonstrates our responsibilities for future green “ said Tuan Haji Jamal Yusoff, TNBF Managing Director.

 
This collaboration aims to leverage hydrogen technology as a key driver in Malaysia’s energy sector transformation. The partnership underscores TNBF’s commitment to pioneering sustainable energy solutions and aligning with national goals for reducing carbon emissions and promoting clean energy. By integrating hydrogen technology, TNBF is set to play a pivotal role in the nation’s journey towards an environmentally sustainable and energy-secure future.

 

The involvement of UM and Energise Sdn Bhd will facilitate cutting-edge research and innovation, ensuring the development of efficient and scalable hydrogen solutions. This initiative is expected to bolster Malaysia’s capabilities in clean energy technologies and contribute significantly to the global efforts in combating climate change.
